Driving innovation with geospatial information
Steve Spittle, Satellite Solutions Architect, Satellite Applications Catapult
Tom Jones, Senior Earth Observation Specialist, Satellite Applications Catapult
The Satellite Applications Catapult is an innovation and technology centre focused on the exploration of research to support the UK space industry and academia. The principal aim is to exploit the innovation potential in the UK industrial and academic communities, by being a focal point where all size of industry and end users can work together with researchers to challenge barriers, explore and develop new ideas, and bring these to commercial reality. The strategic vision is formed by three pillars: energising the market; empowering technology and enabling businesses. This is performed through programmes, where the Catapult unlock customer demand, open new markets, drive exports by raising awareness, changing preconceptions and showcase the power of space derived services.
This talk explores cooperation, projects, ideas and advances by using geospatial information through machine learning and standard analytics, with a particular focus on Earth observation applications for the environment.
